I am 62 and the only physical activities I have done all my life are surfing and dirt bike riding. If I can’t do the only two activities that keep me motivated and happy now, then I guess the alternative is to suck it up, deal with the pain I experience now and don’t do the surgery, but at least now I don’t have catastrophic failures (fracture or dislocation) with my current hip, that’s not so good but apparently better for those activities compared to replacement.

I have a relative who is a Reiki Master. One night for someone's birthday, maybe a dozen or more of us family members go out for Japanese food for dinner. Hospitals try hard to kill the microbes in the wards, but give little attention to eliminate the microbe SOURCE (at least the more severe) which is the feces residue, left after incomplete wiping, from which comes the fatal FECAL DUST. Have in mind that hospital patients are usually, debilitated old people, or having mobility restriction, unable to wipe properly, particularly, if there are piles or hairs. Is it a medical mistake or something more sinister?

I have a surgery on December 12th for a polyps in my vocal chords. First time i will be going under. Im not really worried but more so curious of the procedure.

Truth is that nurses want to help. Fact is that many nurses somehow forget what they were taught about cross contamination. As a patient I experienced a majority of nurses during my 3 week hospitalization that violated basic protocols to prevent cross contamination. Putting on new gloves at the initiation of a visit does not prevent cross contamination if the nurse answers the phone, scratches their head, or touches the outside of containers that have sterile contents inside before opening them after the gloves were put on. . It was a night mare. During my 3 week hospitalization I had only 2 nurses that followed basic protocol to prevent cross contamination. The other 8 thought I was "fussy".
